Fashion springs at 2012 Costume Institute Gala

The Metropolitan Museum of art’s Costume Institute Gala was probably the most fashion-forward event of the year. The star-studded red carpet evening showed the mesmerizingly glittering and glamorous moves of Hollywood divas.

Some beauties flaunted their ultra-feminine style while other went with the season’s charm by opting for some bold and vivacious colors. Retro hair-dos, color blocking, art-deco jewelry and spring make-up along with the sensational ensembles were the highlights of the evening.

From Gwyneth Paltrow’s every-inch glowing looks to Beyonce’s post-baby sheer glamour and Paula Patton and Dianna Agron’s spring charm here are the most fabulous styles that bedazzled the Costume Institute Gala on Monday.

Beauties in hues of Pink:

Paula Patton Amber Heard

Paula Patton went all spring in banded strapless Vera Wang lavender gown. She enhanced her looks with a pair of pink and lavender chandeliers and a gleaming cocktail ring. Amber Heard and Allison Williams were other fuschia fairies. Amber took a turn to sea charm in a mermaid Zac Posen gown whereas Allison opted for a column Ralph Lauren gown.

The Tangerine Talks:

Ginnifer Goodwin Kristen Wiig Kristen Bell

Kristen Wiig’s lacy orange McCartney frock was a sweet pick for the evening. In contrast to her, Kristen Bell and Ginnifer Goodwin opted for very sensual and subtle looks. The former picked a juicy tangerine keyhole cutout and gathered waist halter Tommy Hilfiger gown and the latter went for an orange Monique Lhuillier gown which had some lacy detailing on the collar.

Long Trains:

Nina Dobrev Renee Zellweger

From Beyonce to Amy Poehler many beauties went for the designer numbers with long trains. They were sensual yet the floor sweeping add-on brought the extra essence to their red carpet sensations. Beyonce’s sheer ensemble with heavy peek-a-boo sequin work and an extra long purple feather train instantly became the talk of the town. Similar to her Nina Dobrev’s asymmetrical Donna Karan low-cut liquid gold and black swirling ensemble with a to-die-for train was a big hit at the gala. Renee Zellweger’s Emilio Pucci backless feathered train gown was a commanding addition to the night’s glitter.

Spring Blossoms:

Solange Knowles Jaime King

The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s gala brought every color of spring on the red carpet.  Dianna Agron’s emerald vaporous Carolina Herrera gown with a retro up-do reminded us about the 1920s charming fashion. Similar to her Jaime King and Hilary Swanks’ red hues and January Jones and Solange Knowles electric yellow glamor were some fresh hues from the flowery fields of spring.

Kate Middleton’s first official speech look was inspired by mother Carole’s style

After the emerald green shades of St. Patrick’s Day, the Duchess of Cambridge returned to her favorite blue sapphire. No, no! We are not talking about the engagement ring. It is her favorite color for dresses.

Kate Middleton, for her first public speech as a royal family member, has opted for a royal blue Reiss dress.

The eloquent belted ensemble looked graceful. For the official opening of the East Angelia children’s Hospice at the Treehouse in Ipswich, Kate accessorized her fascinating blue looks with a pair gemstone dangle earrings and a diamond cross pendant. Of course her sapphire engagement ring was there at the proud position.

Kate's Mother Carole MiddletonKate Middleton's Mother Inspired Blue Dress

As it was her first public speech so she looked a bit nervous and probably got the confidence from her mother’s style. The dress Duchess wearing for the occasion was inspired by her mother Carole Middleton’s royal blue Reiss dress that she wore to Ascot in 2010. Earlier too Catherine wore her mother’s hat to the wedding of Nicholas van Cutsem in 2011.

It’s clear that Kate has inherited the style from her mother and Reiss designs are among her most liked looks.

From her engagement to this first official speech, we have seen an array of blue shades around the Duchess and it’s surprisingly wonderful that every style she wore was splendid and pristine. Whether she has inherited it from her mother or from her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, she exactly knows how to bring it to life.

Do I have to stand outside, and what am I going to use to cover my arms if I'm freezing so I'm not shivering while I have to give a speech? It's really stuff like that.”

Fashion Jewelry Tips For Women

Clothes alone are not enough to complete one’s look. Ask any woman and she is sure to give you a detailed insight into how very important jewelry, accessories, make up and shoes are for a complete look and appeal. Since jewelry is a woman’s most favorite object let’s here talk about how wonderfully jewelry accentuates one’s beauty. But one important thing to keep in mind is to wear the right jewelry for the right occasion and look. So here are some handy tips on Gemstone jewelry for all you lovely women that will add to your loveliness.
The first and foremost thing to keep in mind is less is more. Always follow this golden rule and carefully select fewer pieces of jewelry which will have more impact rather than numerous pieces that make you look overdone. So select jewelry pieces that will enhance your look and style.
For those of you who are fond of wearing neckpieces, here’s a useful bit of information. Never wear them with a neckline that runs high. The point is the necklace or pendant that you’re wearing should show well enough and not be concealed beneath clothing. Choosing between an elaborate necklace and a dainty pendant slipped on a chain would depend entirely on the outfit and the occasion. You will be the best judge to know what will look most attractive and befitting.
Coming to earrings, which is the favorite jewelry piece for most women, selecting the right pair is mostly not a tough one. The best thing about earrings is the wide range of designs and styles they are available in which makes selecting the right pair an easy job. From diamond solitaires that can be paired with any outfit or gemstone studs that lend a vibrant look here is one variety that is sure to dress up any attire and make it come alive with color and sparkle.
You can also select from diamond studs or gemstone hoops, drops, danglers or chandeliers depending on the event. Here again the point to keep in mind is to keep in sync the neckline the hairdo and the pair of earrings. The idea is to focus on your lovely pair of earrings not shift the attention from them to other details.Coming to charm bracelets, never wear them with long sleeved tops or clothes that will conceal their beauty altogether. Instead flaunt them with short sleeves to bring out their dazzle and charm.
So now that you have all these handy tips get ready to steal the show, all you lovely ladies out there! More Information at Angara.com

Do you recall the unfortunate Pepsi commercial shoot during which the King of Pop's hair caught fire way back in the eighties? While trying to extinguish the flames, a part of the star's hair was retrieved and preserved which is being turned into diamonds.

LifeGem, the company taking up this venture assures of ten sparkling diamonds but are yet to decide on the price. Interestingly, the procedure from charred hair to glittering diamonds would be accomplished by extracting carbon from the hair and and turning it into crystals which can in turn be processed into diamonds.

Interestingly, LifeGem claims to have transformed another music legend Beethoven's hair into diamonds as well, which sold for a whooping $240,000 each. Lets wait and watch the price tag attached to the diamonds churned out from Michael Jackson's hair.

Fashion means – Clothes or Jewelry

Fashion is not all about clothes; Jewelry too plays an important role

What would Angelina Jolie look like if she wouldn’t have worn emerald jewelry at Oscars? How would have Venus William’s blue kimono gown looked without the silver necklace at ESPY Awards? Do we ever think that how dull our clothing will be without any jewelry? Jewelry not only adds zing and glamour but also give an elegant look to the wearer. This very well verifies the importance of jewelry in the world of fashion. Not only clothes, but jewelry trends too change with time. From diamond jewelry to gemstones, silver to gold, every piece of jewelry is worn differently depending on one’s attire and choice.

When a piece of jewelry is well coordinated with the dress, it not only creates an impact but also looks classy. A pair of gemstone drop earrings and pendant when coordinated and worn with any color, looks simple and elegant. It’s just you who will have to decide, what suits your taste and blends well with what you wear. Also keeping things simple and graceful is in vogue nowadays so overdoing with your jewelry is a complete no no!!

Sapphire jewelry to match your mood

No, this isn’t crazy. You can actually have your jewelry speak your mind. Check out how my jewelry expresses my moods.

When I am cheerful I prefer dangling earrings in dark blue sapphire with diamond accents or white sapphires. The pretty earrings brighten up my fac

e and bring more radiance to my smile. I wear light makeup to let the earrings be the focus.

Blue Sapphire Earrings copy
For a sophisticated look I prefer sapphires and white diamonds. I think nothing matches luxury better. Days when I feel like not dressing up at all sapphire studs do justice to my subtly elegant look.

So don’t just wear jewelry to match your dress, try and match your jewelry to your mood also. You’ll see the magic it does to your overall look.
